Woven Worlds is a partnership between Salford Slow Fashion CIC (UK) and IGC (Uganda), built on workshops in the UK and Uganda exploring identity through fashion, poetry, and textiles. The project amplifies marginalized voices, addressing the stigma faced by care-experienced individuals and survivors of war, while sparking dialogue on textile geopolitics. By connecting Manchester’s industrial cotton history with the decline of indigenous textiles like Lubugo in Uganda and exposing the realities of waste colonialism, Woven Worlds highlights global inequities through fashion.
